Red Carpet Beauty

February 23, 2015

Rosamund Pike's entire look was brilliant. Soft textured updo by Kylee Rae Heath for Oscar Blandi, skin by celebrity aesthetician Crystal Lynn Mattison, and makeup by celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis. She was absolute perfection from the Givenchy gown up.

Get The Look: Rosamund Pike 2015 Oscars

February 23, 2015

Skin: Crystal Lynn Mattison for Sisley Paris

Pre-Oscars, Pike got the all-star treatment with Sisley Gentle Buffing Cream to exfoliate the skin.  Mattison followed this up with Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask to brighten the skin, and then some Sisley Black Rose Precious Face Oil for ultimate hydration.

Oscar's Skincare: How The Stars Got Their Red Carpet Glow

February 23, 2015

Rosamund Pike’s Oscar prep began a few days before the big show. She paid a visit to celebrity aesthetician Crystal Lynn Mattison for a Sisley facial using the Gentle Buffing Facial Cream to fix impurities and remove dead skin without irritating the complexion, and the Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask to reenergize the skin.

On the day of, makeup artist Melanie Inglessis gave Pike her own mini Sisley facial. “I started with Sisley Sisleya Essential Skincare Lotion to clean and tone the face. Followed with an all over Sisley Floral Spray Mist to invigorate and freshen up the skin,” she said. “Whilst the skin was still a little damp, I applied Sisley Hydra Global for a long hydrating effect and also a matte finish. I applied a thick layer of Sisley Eye Contour Mask under the eyes which I like to leave on for about 10 minutes; it reduces under eye puffiness and helps brighten the look. I remove it gently with a wet tissue. Finally, a thick layer of Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm is applied to the lips/ I left it on until it’s time to do the lips. Once I removed excess Eye Mask, I glided on Sisley Phyto Cernes Eclat under the eyes. The metal massage tip has a cooling effect and helped reduce any puffiness whilst covering any dark circles.”

The Glam and Not-So-Glam Moments of Getting Red Carpet Ready

February 24, 2015

Glam moment: The next morning, I arrived at The Mondrian at 8 a.m. for a Sisley Paris facial with Crystal Mattison, who not only has magic hands but used said hands on Rosamund Pike before the Oscars to get her skin prepped for the red carpet. Sisley is one of — if not the — best luxury skin care brands to come out of Paris, and I figured getting a glow the morning before the show wasn't a bad idea.

I'd usually avoid getting a facial the week before an event, since I tend to break out, but no extractions were performed, and the light exfoliation helped create a clean slate for my makeup application. Plus, nothing screams glam more than wearing a $162 rose cream mask while your entire body is massaged.

Unglam moment: Having to leave and drive myself home in such a cathartic state.
